There are four main seasons in Nepal, spring (February to April), summer (June to August), autumn (September to November; best time to travel) and winter (December to February). The activities like high hill trekking are best performed during autumn and spring. The wet weather clears the sky and nature offering the pleasurable view of Himalayas. Some sight-seeing tours, jungle safari, bungee jumping and low land hiking can be performed during all four seasons except for the monsoon. The long grasses are cut down during winter season making the season most favorable to spot the wildlife species during jungle safari. The low tourist season in Nepal is from June to September when monsoon rain showers, cloud blocks the mountain views, landslide may take place and drowning of lands in Terai areas are observed. But this season is also a popular time to trek beyond the hills. Manang and Mustang area receives minimum precipitation and make the weather arid and favorable to travel but the low hills and mountains receive heavy rainfall, leeches and landslide can be the obstacles. Autumn is the best season to travel for trekking and high hill expedition. This season is also famous for the biggest Nepalese festival of Dashain and Tihar. But most of the travel activities can be performed throughout the year.
